Jocelyn's Review of Stirfry Creations
I couldn’t wait to try the new MAGGI Stir Fry Creations range. My husband and I like anything Asian inspired and stir fries are a sure-fire midweek winner at our place.
I was in luck this time around and was able to pick up some chicken and some fresh veggies from my local supermarket. For busier times though, I tend to just grab the pre-packed veggies. They’re so convenient for many dishes like this one, and they keep really crisp in the fridge.
To start with, I sliced the chicken into thin strips and then let it infuse in the paste while I cut up the veggies – broccoli, mushrooms, bok choy, snow peas, red capsicum, zucchini and bean sprouts. I then threw the chicken into the pan (with a dollop of oil) and let it simmer for 5 minutes, before adding the veggies to the mix, and stirring it together for another 3 minutes.
In a couple of easy steps I had a sweet chilli, ginger and lemongrass chicken stirfry ready in less than 20 minutes. I served it with some fresh egg noodles. Presto! Not to mention the fact I managed to get in the five serves of vegetables a day that we all require.
Unlike other products I’ve tried in the past which end up quite bland and lack flavour, I love how flavoursome the meat ends up with MAGGI Stir Fry Creations. For me, stirfries are so quick and easy, but most of all fresh and nutritious.
Something else I love is that the leftovers are great for lunch at work the next day. Anything extra we didn’t finish off goes straight into Tupperware so we can eat it the next day. A great option for those on a budget too – and a much better alternative to the regular sandwich.
